Dear ANTH 101 Community,
Our servers have been struggling to keep up with all of the activity on anth101.com. To lighten the load, we are encouraging participants to use Instagram to post challenge submissions and updates. ANTH101.com is not going away. It will always be here to host the core content, and you can continue to use ANTH101 for your challenge submissions through the end of 2017.
Good news! Instagram is a great way to share challenge submissions!
Here is how it works:
- Post your challenge submission to Instagram using 3 hashtags: #anth101, #anth101challengeX (X=challenge number), and #YOURGROUPNAME where “YOURGROUPNAME” is a unique group name created by your teacher or group founder. For example, if you are a member of amysalliance and you are submitting an update for Challenge 3 you would tag it #anth101 #amysalliance #anth101challenge3
- Your post will automatically appear on Instagram under those 3 hashtags. A search for your group hashtag (e.g. amysalliance) will bring up only posts from Amy’s Alliance. We can also embed the posts here, like this:

Start a group:
To start a group just post to Instagram with the hashtag #anth101newgroup and a unique group hashtag. Make sure you search instagram for your hashtag to make sure it is unique before you start using it. Once you have done this, your group will automatically appear here. Tell your group members about the unique hashtag and start sharing!
